Testimonials

From a personal perspective, it was a great experience (dance, step). We learned the American style of musical theatre, dance, performances, which need to be done to be to the fullest, jokes and pauses, that gives time for the audience to laugh. The director was very patient, hard-working and knew what he wanted to see as a final product.

Evelina (Sr. Mary Leo)

I can speak for everyone by saying that this director was a very tolerant, warm person and a great director as well as dancer. Because of the short amount of time we had, every day was a bit of a challenge for us. We needed to tackle a lot of tasks every day – dance, sing, act. We even learned how to do step (tap dancing)! I am very glad, since the director brought a puppet-friend for me – Sister Mary Annette, whom I needed to befriend and learn how to handle – that’s a great experience. Of course, our director Rūta, who worked with puppets also helped. This play got a lot of success and I’m very glad that we got the chance to work with this director! We are very happy to act in this play.

Rasa (Sr. Mary Amnesia)

The director inspired me to work. We managed to do things that seemed impossible before. We even managed to master the basics of step (tap dancing) in a month and a lot of other dance moves. I am very happy for the opportunity to work with this director. The man has a lot of patience.

Beata (Sr. Robert Ann)

For me, as a classical singer, the biggest challenge was to learn a different kind of singing style, especially gospel. Step dance, of course, also demanded a lot of effort, but it was very interesting to learn it. The director has great amounts of patience, tolerance and understanding. I think that’s a great example for all of us.

Loreta (Sr. Hubert)

All of the actresses noted the director’s characteristics: patience, understanding, tolerance.

Also, it was new and interesting for all of them to get a notion of the American musical process and principles. All had new experience in dance and singing. The director not only gave the possibility to experience and develop a new set of scene skills, but gathered us as a family too!
